Gimlet Labs is hiring a Senior Technical Recruiter to build the teams that will define our core infrastructure.

This role is an opportunity to help assemble the strongest group of engineers who will define the future of AI infrastructure.

You will focus on some of the hardest to hire profiles in the industry: kernel, compiler, and low-level systems engineer. You will partner directly with founders and engineering leadership to identify, engage, and recruit exceptional talent in niche and highly competitive markets. Success in this role requires strong technical intuition, disciplined execution, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining a consistently high hiring bar.

We review recruiting as a company-building function and expect recruiters to operate as strategic partners, not process managers.

You will partner with founders and engineering leaders to define success, shape hiring strategy, identify exceptional talent, and help candidates develop conviction in Gimlet's mission.

You will develop a clear understanding of role requirements and translate them into targeted sourcing and evaluation strategies and then go and identify and engage top talent through direct sourcing, network development, and market mapping

You will build and maintain high-quality pipelines for niche technical areas with limited candidate supply. Run efficient, high-signal interview processes in partnership with engineering leadership

Advise hiring managers on talent market dynamics, candidate quality, and closing strategies

Drive urgency and accountability across the hiring process without compromising bar

Continuously improve recruiting processes to increase signal, speed, and consistency

5+ years of experience in technical recruiting, with a strong track record of hiring for highly specialized engineering roles

Direct experience hiring for kernel, compiler, or similarly low-level systems roles

Proven ability to identify, engage, and recruit exceptional passive candidates in competitive and niche talent markets

The strongest candidates are deeply curious about technology, naturally relationship-oriented, and energized by building.

They are comfortable in operating in ambiguity and are motivated by the opportunity to help shape a company, not simply support one.

Experience hiring for AI infrastructure, distributed systems, or high-performance computing roles

Track record of building or scaling recruiting functions or processes

Strong network within systems, compiler, or adjacent low-level engineering communities

As an early member of the team, you will have significant ownership over your work, partner directly with a small group of highly capable people, and help shape not just what we build, but how we scale the company.
