Description
Assess a diverse patient demographic that spans pediatric, adult, and geriatric categories, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
Create customized treatment strategies reflecting each patient's communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions that prioritize language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing rehabilitation.
Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to devise comprehensive care plans.
Educate patients and families on therapy best practices to advance progress beyond clinical sessions.
Participate in inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure consistent care throughout patient recovery journeys.
Document all patient interactions and therapeutic interventions accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to all applicable guidelines.
Engage in professional development opportunities through continuing education and peer consultations to stay at the forefront of the field.
Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of hiring.
