Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position performs duties related to the registration of Office Surgery facilities, Pain Management Clinics, Pain Management Clinic Exemptions, and related inspections pursuant to Chapters 458 and 459, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 64B8, Florida Administrative Code.
- Reviews, processes, and maintains complex applications and updates related to the registration of Office Surgery facilities, Pain Management Clinics, and Pain Management Clinic Exemptions pursuant to Chapters 458 and 459, Florida Statutes, and associated rules. Independently performs all tasks associated with licensure and inspections by maintaining the office surgery registration and inspection program, including verification of supporting documents; reviewing curriculum, transcripts, degrees, and other educational materials of applicants having received education and training in foreign countries in order to determine applicant eligibility for certification and licensure and the continuation of practice in the respective profession; verification of inspections or accreditations; and reviewing complex background information to determine eligibility for licensure.
- Composes and authorizes the preparation of correspondence regarding licensure and regulation of professionals, facilities, and other licensees; recommends and reviews improvements in procedures; provides applicants personal guidance regarding certification and licensure, discipline, and other regulatory functions.
- Conducts continuing analysis of difficult consumer complaints and/or unusual certification and licensure applications requiring extensive research and professional judgment.
- Evaluates and determines compliance with office surgery inspections, and performs data entry, invoicing to offices that have been inspected, forwarding copies of inspection and re-inspection reports to the Consumer Services Unit (CSU), and forwarding copies of corrective action plans to CSU.
- Communicates verbally and in writing with physicians, medical educators, the general medical community, other state and federal regulatory agencies, and medical societies regarding office-based surgery.
- Provides supervisory staff with LEIDS data, documentation and/or justifications as requested for any application files and licenses appearing on HCPR LEIDS Error Reports generated quarterly and yearly in relation to the Balanced Scorecard Reports.
- Prepares, proposes, and applies updates to LEIDS letters and Desk Guides for Office Surgery Clinics, Pain Management Clinics and Pain Management Clinic Exemptions as required.
- Prepare documents for scanning into the electronic document repository.
- Performs other duties and special projects as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

- Ability to learn, understand, and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures for licensing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities to meet strict deadlines.

- Ability to work independently and establish and maintain dependable, effective working relationships with others.
- Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledge and proficiency in using Windows-based computers.
- Ability to learn and utilize job-specific software such as LEIDS and AxiomPro and office equipment such as phones, fax machines, scanners, and copiers.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those who meet the following minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2 years' experience that includes data entry, document preparation, computer software use, evaluating legal documents or evaluating for compliance with regulations, customer service, or handling sensitive information.
- College education can substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
