Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly patients, focusing on their specific needs, cognitive functions, and emotional health.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, while addressing complex geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Work closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure integrated care for optimal patient outcomes.

• Offer crisis intervention and timely support during mental health emergencies involving elderly individuals.

• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment pathways, and available community resources.

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and progress in compliance with legal and ethical healthcare standards.

• Participate actively in team discussions, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of advancements in geriatric psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily serves elderly individuals dealing with various mental health challenges, including age-related cognitive decline, depressive disorders, anxiety, and other geriatric-specific conditions. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A valid and current state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is strongly preferred.

• A profound understanding of geriatric mental health disorders, therapy modalities, and interventions.

• Experience providing therapeutic support to older adults and their families.
