Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations alongside police officers during mental health crisis interventions to assess the necessity for involuntary detention under California Welfare and Institutions Codes 5150 and 5585.

• Carefully document all patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and precision in record-keeping.

• Collaborate directly with law enforcement personnel to provide immediate mental health responses, ensuring a cohesive approach to de-escalating potentially volatile situations.

• Engage in effective communication with crisis service units, hospitals, and psychiatrists to coordinate comprehensive care and follow-up for clients.
\n
• Deliver short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals experiencing acute mental health episodes, creating individualized care strategies to support stabilization.

• Participate in training and education sessions for law enforcement staff, equipping them with essential skills to compassionately manage mental health encounters and minimize the use of force.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on providing mental health services to a diverse population, including individuals who are recently arrested and require immediate psychological evaluation and intervention. • Valid and active licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.
