Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and detailed evaluations of clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting all findings from initial interviews through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans that cater to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with assigned therapeutic goals.

• Facilitate interactive individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques to promote client engagement and progress.
\n
• Monitor clients’ ongoing progress throughout their treatment trajectory, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies based on their needs.
\n
• Collaborate actively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to develop comprehensive treatment plans that integrate various aspects of client care.

• Serve as a liaison to follow up with clients post-hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and addressing any immediate issues that may arise.
\n
• Proactively identify and mitigate barriers that may impede client recovery, providing feedback and advice to family members and primary caregivers to support their loved ones.

As a Mental Health Counselor at San Antonio Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse client base, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills paired with a strong ability to build authentic therapeutic relationships.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous clinical experience as a mental health counselor, with a proven track record of effective case management.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, ideally AVATAR or similar platforms.

• A solid understanding of mental health conditions, including substance abuse disorders and comorbidities.

• Knowledge of best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and familiarity with the pharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals.

• Strong interpersonal skills combined with a caring demeanor and the capacity to empathize deeply with clients.

San Antonio Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
