Warehouse Shipping Lead - Second Shift

Summary:

A key staff member that directly reports to and supports the Warehouse Supervisor. Leads by example and is responsible for building and maintaining a cohesive Warehouse Team along with validating every shipment. A strong emphasis should be placed on developing, coaching and mentoring the warehouse hourly team. The Shipping Lead will ensure that both internal and external customer needs are met. He/ She will work closely with all warehouse staff to ensure all product shipped is labeled correctly. The Shipping Lead also spends the appropriate amount of time on and in the dock/freezer area of warehousing enforcing GMP policies,  FIFO, occupational safety and food safety /sanitation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1.      Personnel

o   Provide training for all shipping personnel including job procedures, paperwork, inventory, safety, and GMPs. Verify accuracy of all data entry and paperwork turned in by the warehouse team.

o   Provide input and feedback in reference to the employee schedule. 

o   Organize people and equipment to maximize warehouse productivity.

o   Participate in annual employee evaluations.

o   Identify potential for growth and the need for training to improve performance.

o   Participate in disciplinary action proceedings where needed.

o   Ensure the proper training and safe utilization of all shipping personnel, equipment, including the forklift, electric and manual pallet jacks.

o   Assure (2) 10 min. breaks & (1) 30 min. lunch.

2.      Finished Goods

o   Monitor physical inventory to ensure orders are being fulfilled.

o   Communicate order shortage to customer service.

o   Order material from supplies.

o   Utilize Batchmaster to record inventory movement.

o   Complete Safety chain for every load.

o   Check drivers in/ out of the dock doors

o   Complete BOL with drivers and provide shipping seals to shipping operators.

3.      Facility

o   Maintain clean and organized storage areas.

o   Maintain proper sanitation of equipment and building.

o   Make sure all docks are swept and organized at the end of each shift.

o   Make sure all machines are put on charge.

o   Relive Desk Clerk for breaks and lunch.

4.      Food Safety

o   Maintain stock rotation

o   Record lot numbers for traceability

o   Clean and inspect stock to prevent infestation

o   Ensure proper receiving guidelines are followed.

o   Monitor storage conditions for proper temperatures

o   Segregate allergens from non-allergens

5. All other duties as assigned by management

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

REQUIREMENTS:

·         High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Able to work any shift or schedule including weekends and holidays

·         Able to stand, walk, and lift and carry up to 25 pounds

·         High school diploma or GED

·         Must be able to read and write in English

PREFERRED SKILLS:

·         Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

·         Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Experience in manufacturing, supply chain or operations.
