Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and detailed evaluations to understand each client’s unique needs, documenting insights from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of their treatment journey.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that encompass interventions aimed at addressing clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health concerns. This might include strategies for managing anxiety, depression, relationships, and more.

• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and group therapy workshops, employing various therapeutic modalities based on client needs and preferences.

• Monitor client progress diligently, adapting treatment plans as necessary to enhance recovery outcomes and ensure alignment with therapeutic goals.

• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, and nursing staff, to ensure cohesive care and holistic support for clients.

• Actively engage in communication with psychiatrists regarding medication management for clients when applicable, providing comprehensive mental health care.

• Educate and empower family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with skills and strategies to support their loved ones through challenges related to mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our center focuses on serving a diverse client population, including individuals, couples, families, and groups representing various backgrounds and experiences. As a counselor, you will have the opportunity to work with clients facing a spectrum of mental health challenges from anxiety and depression to complex trauma and addiction issues. Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited educational institution.

• Current and valid licensure in the state of Virginia, specifically as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous clinical experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a solid understanding of various therapeutic techniques and practices.

• Proficiency in using electronic health records, with preference given to candidates familiar with AVATAR systems.

• Knowledge of the intricacies of physical and emotional health conditions, including substance use disorders, and their treatment protocols.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside exceptional interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n
