ART: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)

Adjunct Faculty – Fine Arts, Art, or Art History Location: District Wide Pay schedule available upon request. FLSA Status: Exempt (does not accrue overtime) Position Type: Adjunct Bargaining Unit: AFT/College Faculty Department: District Wide The Position Part‑time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students. The San Diego Community College District—one of the largest in California—provides a wide range of programs. These positions are as‑needed and applicants should live within commuting distance to San Diego. Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes. Working Conditions : Variable, depending on assignment. Major Responsibilities Teach lecture and lab classes as assigned. Be available to students outside of class. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain professional conduct and ethics. Keep current knowledge of subject matter. Maintain accurate records. Create a learning environment that encourages discussion. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Art, or Art History from a regionally accredited institution. OR Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art, or Art History and a Master’s degree in Humanities from a regionally accredited institution. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds. Desired Qualifications Equivalent foreign degrees evaluated by a professional association member of NACES or ACEI. California Community College Instructor Credential in Fine and Applied Arts and Related Technologies (valid for life). Other relevant certifications, credentials, or experience.
