SPREADSHEETS-CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit) Classification Title: SPREADSHEETS-CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit) Working Title: Adjunct Faculty Location: District Wide Pay Information: At the time that an offer of assignment is made, salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and verifications of prior experience if applicable. FLSA Status: Exempt (does not accrue overtime) Position Type: Adjunct Bargaining Unit: AFT/Continuing Education Faculty Department: District Wide The Position NOTE: The San Diego Community College District accepts applications for adjunct positions on a continuous basis; however, it does not necessarily imply immediate openings. If you meet the minimum qualifications, your application will remain in the pool for possible assignments in the academic year. Applications are purged approximately one year from submission. Major Responsibilities Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Provide instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines. Provide instruction outside of class to support students. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas. Maintain accurate records of all scheduled classes. Provide quality instruction that encourages discussion and learning. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR, An associate degree AND six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR, Possession of a full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Computer Applications; OR, The equivalent. Desired Qualifications: Equivalency of foreign degrees evaluated by NACES or ACEI and submitted with application. Full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Computer Applications (if not achieved yet).
