APPLIANCE/REFRIGERATION‑CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non‑credit) The San Diego Community College District accepts applications for adjunct (part‑time/substitute) positions across three campus locations and various continuing education centers. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be added to a pool for assignments in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Positions are filled on an as‑needed basis, and applicants should reside within commuting distance to San Diego. Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes. Major Responsibilities Primary duties involve curriculum delivery and teaching; assignments consist of lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Provide instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain professional conduct, ethics, and up‑to‑date subject‑matter knowledge. Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes and be available to students outside of class time. Maintain accurate records and provide quality instruction that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree AND six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject taught; OR Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject taught; OR Equivalently demonstrated experience. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of continuing education students and staff. Desired Qualifications Equivalency through a “Request for Equivalency Form” if degree is not yet conferred but will be before employment. Foreign degree holders with evaluated coursework by an accredited professional association. Prior to Employment Requirements Submit official college transcripts. Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam, renewable every 4 years. Complete a Live Scan fingerprint clearance at district expense before day one. Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
