Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments in collaboration with police officers to evaluate individuals in crisis and determine the need for involuntary detention under sections 5150/5585.

• Document and maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring that all information is securely stored and easily accessible for treatment planning.

• Accompany law enforcement on mental health-related calls, providing on-the-spot assessments and intervention strategies that promote de-escalation and safety.
\n
• Facilitate effective communication amongst mental health, law enforcement, and healthcare staff, ensuring a coordinated approach to care and support for all individuals involved.

• Provide crisis counseling for individuals experiencing acute mental health episodes, offering support and intervention aimed at ensuring safety and stabilizing the situation.

• Assist in training law enforcement personnel on best practices in addressing mental health issues, enhancing their ability to manage situations with empathy and minimal force.

• Engage in community outreach to raise awareness of available mental health resources and increase access for vulnerable populations.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role ranges between USD 52,000 to USD 70,000 yearly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
