# Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day/Night or Night shifts available; staffing ratio goal of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5); weekend coverage variable based on unit needs; floating to other Med-Surg Oncology units as required

Highlights:

• Comprehensive solid tumor oncology care across the cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life transition support
• Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, plus chemotherapy administration
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures
• Epic charting system with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• 72-hour orientation with robust interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
• 36-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (must be current and within the last 12 months)
• BLS certification required; ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills required: Telemetry interpretation and monitoring, IV management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, isolation precautions, accessing/managing ports, chemotherapy administration, tracheostomy care
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• 2 professional references required (at least one must be from a manager/director or formal supervisor)

Additional Information:

This is a travel nursing assignment with strict compliance requirements. Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing. Former employees are eligible after 6 months away from the facility. One pre-approved time off period may be built into the contract at submission.
