# Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Schedule: Day/Night rotating shifts (12-hour shifts); shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs; weekend coverage variable based on unit needs; floating required to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units

• Comprehensive solid tumor oncology unit caring for patients throughout their entire cancer journey, from new diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care
• Staffing ratios: Goal of 1:4, maximum 1:5
• EMR: Epic charting system
• 36-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics with breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal cancers and those receiving chemotherapy
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience; oncology experience preferred but not required
• Current, active acute care experience within the last 12 months in specialty nursing
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
• BLS certification required; ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills required
• Proficiency in accessing/managing ports, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, central line blood draws, IV management, and tracheostomy care
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)

This is a rotating day/night position where you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both based on departmental needs. Candidates must be responsive and cooperative during the credentialing process, which includes urgent fingerprinting requirements for Ohio. Former employees are eligible after a 6-month separation period. Local candidates are accepted. One pre-approved time-off period is available and must be identified at submission.
