Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident's unique needs and goals.
• Implement therapeutic techniques and modalities that promote healing, decrease pain, and improve patient mobility.
• Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team, routinely engaging with nurses, occupational therapists, physicians, and families to coordinate care effectively.
• Continuously monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and providing education on effective exercises and safety protocols.
• Promote wellness initiatives that encourage preventative care within the facility, helping all residents lead healthier lifestyles.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on the geriatric population, where you will cater to the unique physical needs of aging individuals. The residents often face challenges such as mobility impairments, chronic pain, and recovery from surgeries or injuries. Utilizing your knowledge in rehabilitation techniques, you will empower these patients by restoring their independence while ensuring their dignity is always respected during therapy plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; a Doctorate or Master's Degree in the same field is preferred.
• Current Virginia Physical Therapist license in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of experience in physical therapy, particularly in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or a long-term care environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, emphasizing empathy and patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
