Sales Development Representative

Overview The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for initiating contact with potential clients, qualifying inbound leads, and scheduling introductory meetings for the outside sales team. This role is essential in expanding the company's customer base and generating opportunities for high-performance solutions such as custom components, printed electronics, and user interface technologies. The SDR serves as a proactive communicator, strategic researcher, and a strong first impression of the company's brand. Job Responsibilities Make outbound calls and follow up with potential clients. Qualify leads from events, campaigns, and online inquiries. Maintain accurate records in the CRM system. Research and identify target prospects using digital tools. Schedule meetings and provide lead context to the sales team. Track outreach metrics and appointment conversions. Collaborate with sales and marketing to refine strategies. Share prospect insights to improve messaging and campaigns. Represent the company professionally in all interactions. Support CRM upkeep, event follow-ups, and special outreach. Assist with additional sales-related tasks as needed. Qualifications Preferred: Associate's or bachelor's in business, Marketing, or related field. Minimum: High school diploma/GED + 1-2 years in sales, customer service, or telemarketing. Comfortable with metrics, CRM dashboards, and lead qualification. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with CRM systems. Strong verbal and written communication. Confident in cold calling and objection handling. Organized and efficient in fast-paced settings. Familiar with B2B sales; manufacturing or technical industry experience is a plus. Skilled at communicating product value and technical information clearly. Logical thinker with sound judgment in aligning customer needs with solutions. Able to read financial/operational instructions and write concise correspondence. Work Environment & Physical Demands Primarily office-based with minimal physical demands. Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs) may be required. Travel may be required during training and periodically thereafter. Hybrid or remote work options may be available after the training period.
