Clinical Research Coordinator I - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Position Summary Position is within the Division of Clinical Research in Ob/Gyn, assisting investigators as coordinator of basic to moderately complex clinical research studies. Scheduled Hours 40 hours per week. Job Description The Clinical Research Coordinator will manage the daily activities of investigator-initiated studies, including recruitment, enrollment, facilitation of study visits, administration of surveys, regulatory compliance, and overall project management. This role includes phlebotomy and off‑site visits requiring reliable transportation. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Implement and manage all phases of study/protocol; ensure compliance with protocol guidelines and regulatory agency requirements; establish record‑keeping systems; assess and determine participants’ progress; investigate and report adverse events; decide when to notify physicians, when to stop participant inclusion, or modify protocol; resolve protocol‑management issues and recommend corrective action; serve as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency. Recruit and enroll study participants; determine eligibility based on diagnostic criteria; develop informed consent packets; explain study purpose and procedures; administer and score tests and evaluate lab and clinical assessments. Ensure timely completion of all protocol requirements; schedule and facilitate participants’ completion; evaluate and interpret collected clinical data; prepare oral or written reports analyzing progress trends and recommending conclusions. Collect clinical data under clinical research protocols. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Patient care setting. Typically sitting at desk or table; ability to travel to non‑WashU off‑site locations. Equipment: office equipment. Education Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education. Certifications & Professional Licenses Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) – required; must be obtained within one month of hire date. Work Experience No specific work experience required. Skills Clinical Research, Clinical Study Protocols, Communication, Computer Systems, Interpersonal Communication, Organizing, Research Support Driver’s License A driver’s license and good driving record are required. Required Qualifications Basic Life Support certification (obtained within one month of hire date). A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Background in statistics. Phlebotomy and blood processing experience. Grade C09 Salary Range $47,400.00 – $71,200.00 annually.
