Step into a pivotal role supporting K–5 students as a self-contained special education teacher within a dedicated elementary school setting. This contract opportunity places you at the heart of a vibrant learning community, where you'll work on-site only, providing consistent care and instruction to students who haven't had a special education teacher for the past three years. Key Qualifications:

• Valid Educator Certification required (must provide documentation upon request)
• Prior experience teaching in special education classrooms, specifically self-contained settings
• Ability to support a K–5 caseload of approximately 10 students (with a goal to split total caseload of 20)
• Skilled in assisting students with personal care, including some toileting duties
• Adaptable, patient, and ready to build a positive classroom culture
• Previous travel experience as a teacher is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with student IEPs
• Collaborate to help restructure and manage caseload distribution
• Monitor student progress, document goals, and work closely with fellow special education staff
• Establish strong, supportive relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide assistance with daily living skills and foster independence
• Maintain a productive classroom environment from 7:45am – 3:15pm, 35 hours weekly

This assignment runs from ASAP through May 26, 2027, at a single elementary location. You’ll have access to a principal who is flexible with interviews after 4pm CDT and weekends, ensuring you can easily connect with school leadership.
