Project Manager – DSA / K-12 Construction Location: Bay Area, CA Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite Project Type: K-12 and Public Education Construction Position Overview A leading California general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager with DSA K-12 experience to oversee public school construction projects across the Bay Area. This role will manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery while maintaining compliance with DSA requirements, public works standards, and district expectations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in K-12 construction , excellent client communication skills, and experience managing complex school modernization and ground-up campus projects. Key Responsibilities Manage DSA-regulated K-12 projects from preconstruction through completion. Coordinate Project Engineers, Assistant PMs, Superintendents, and subcontractors. Oversee project schedules, procurement, budgeting, and execution strategies. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. DSA Compliance & Public Works Oversight Ensure compliance with California Division of the State Architect regulations and public works requirements. Coordinate inspections, approvals, and required project documentation. Maintain adherence to school district standards and reporting procedures. Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls. Lead change order negotiations and contract administration. Monitor project financial performance and profitability. Client & Stakeholder Relationships Serve as the primary point of contact for school districts, architects, consultants, and owners. Lead OAC meetings and maintain strong communication with all stakeholders. Build long-term client relationships to support repeat business opportunities. Preconstruction & Planning Participate in estimating, constructability reviews, and value engineering. Support project pursuits and proposal development for future K-12 opportunities. Qualifications 5–10+ years of experience managing DSA-regulated K-12 construction projects . Strong knowledge of DSA processes, inspections, and compliance requirements. Experience with modernization, occupied campus work, and/or ground-up school construction preferred. Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple stakeholders. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software . #J-18808-Ljbffr MKL Careers
