Job Summary As a Sous Chef I, you will support the day-to-day culinary operations at NBC 30 Rockefeller Center. In this role, you’ll work closely with the culinary leadership team to help deliver high-quality food and a great guest experience. This is an opportunity to build leadership skills, contribute to menu development, and grow your career in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment. You’ll play a key role in preparing and executing food programs while maintaining strong standards for quality, safety, and presentation. Candidates should be open to working evenings and weekends as needed. Key Responsibilities Support the preparation and execution of daily menu items Assist with menu planning and development Help coordinate kitchen production and daily prep activities Partner with the culinary team to launch new menus and programs Support inventory management, ordering, and cost controls Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, and presentation Provide guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support to kitchen team members Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented kitchen environment Assist with additional responsibilities as needed What We’re Looking For 2–4 years of culinary experience or relevant kitchen training Some experience supporting or guiding team members (formal management experience not required) Passion for food, hospitality, and continuous learning Strong attention to detail and organization Interest in menu development and food trends Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation, and cost controls Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, or similar food service environments ServSafe or Department of Health Certification Culinary degree or equivalent training Familiarity with basic computer tools (e.g., Excel, inventory systems) Apply to Flik today!
