Key Responsibilities

• Direct comprehensive physical therapy treatment tailored to alleviate pain, prevent disabilities, and enhance muscle function in accordance with individualized care plans.
• Supervise and guide Physical Therapy Assistants in implementing therapy sessions, ensuring the delivery of quality care as per established protocols.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical capabilities using various diagnostic modalities to create targeted treatment strategies.
• Assess the home environment and recommend modifications that promote greater independence for clients during their recovery process.
• Develop and administer a range of therapeutic exercises, providing instruction and motivation to clients for enhanced engagement in their rehabilitation program.
• Employ techniques such as manual therapy, traction, and massage to deliver effective treatment regimens.
• Evaluate, fit, and modify orthotic and prosthetic devices based on individual needs, collaborating closely with physicians on recommended changes.
• Document clinical progress comprehensively, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to our rigorous documentation standards.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure holistic care and collaborative treatment goals for each client.
• Educate clients and their families about the physical therapy process and the appropriate use and care of therapeutic devices.
• Complete ongoing patient assessments, care plan reviews, and adjustments while utilizing community resources to support patient recovery.
• Maintain timely submission of necessary clinical and payroll documentation in alignment with branch policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role primarily involves working with a diverse patient population seeking outpatient rehabilitation services. Patients may include individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, chronic pain conditions, and mobility limitations. You will address the unique circumstances of each client, tailoring therapy approaches to enhance functional abilities and achieve meaningful outcomes in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in Virginia.
• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Proven knowledge of various physical therapy modalities with documented success in applying manual therapy techniques.
• Ability to create effective exercise programs customized to individual patient needs.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) software; proficiency in Web PT is preferred.
• A commitment to staying informed about current research and trends in physical therapy practice.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an outpatient therapy setting or home health care environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a capacity to build rapport and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
