Work Environment\n

This position is remote but is connected to our outpatient office in Yonkers, where our interdisciplinary team meets periodically for case conferences and collaborative care discussions. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional evening hours required on a rotating shift basis to accommodate client appointments. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed and comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use conditions, with a particular focus on identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Design and implement tailored treatment plans collaboratively with clients, utilizing evidence-based practices and interventions that address both mental health and substance use needs.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on equipping clients with coping strategies, relapse prevention techniques, and emotional regulation skills.

• Coordinate care effectively with the multidisciplinary team, leveraging the expertise of psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists to offer an integrated approach to treatment.

• Regularly monitor substance use and apply motivational interviewing techniques to effectively support clients through their recovery process.

• Educate clients and their families about the intricate relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the significance of treatment adherence.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment interventions, and progress in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in case conferences and ongoing training sessions to enhance treatment approaches for co-occurring disorders and promote professional development.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, LCSW-R, or LMFT in New York State is required.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies for co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A strong understanding of the interaction between mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary care team.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly involving substance use treatment.

• Experience in outpatient settings that emphasize integrated care approaches.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and client management.

Compensation and Benefits\n
