This is a hands-on position who is equally comfortable managing the details of all areas of accounting and collaborating with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial decisions. You will own all daily accounting operations and lead a team of one while serving as a trusted cross-functional resource. There is meaningful runway here to improve processes, strengthen controls, and optimize systems in a company that is actively investing in its financial infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full month-end and year-end close processMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency of all financial dataExecute daily accounting operations across general ledgerPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAPPrepare and deliver weekly and monthly financial reports, including sales tax filingsIdentify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely and thorough mannerSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in close partnership with senior leadershipTranslate financial data, reports, and processes into clear, accessible language for team members and leaders without an accounting backgroundEnsure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirementsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party professionalsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase system efficiencyAssist with the implementation and ongoing optimization of accounting systems and ERP platformsSupport special projects and cross-functional initiatives as a collaborative resource across the organizationRequirementsBachelor's degree in AccountingCPA a plus7+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of US GAAPProven experience owning month-end close, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliationsProficiency with accounting software and ERP systemsAdvanced Excel skillsExcellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated experience improving and/or automating accounting processesAt Taylor White, we specialize in Accounting & Finance roles in Tampa Bay.
