Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary client interviews to assess mental, behavioral, and emotional health accurately.

• Document client cases meticulously, following through from the initial consultation to treatment completion.

• Develop tailored recovery plans that incorporate individual, couple, and family interventions while considering group therapy options.

• Facilitate engaging and productive individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based techniques to foster personal growth.

• Monitor client progress consistently throughout the treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies.

• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, medical doctors, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care for clients with multifaceted health concerns.

• Assist clients in understanding and managing the impact of prescribed medications on their mental health.
\n
• Support families and caregivers in navigating the challenges associated with mental health issues, offering guidance and resources.

• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may inhibit recovery, ensuring a focus on positive outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on helping individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds, including those facing challenges such as addiction and co-occurring physical health conditions. Our clinic serves a diverse population, allowing you to apply your skills in varied contexts and make a significant difference in the lives of others.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as either an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.

• A successful pass score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR.
\n
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, vital for effective patient interaction and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

• Proven ability to engage with clients compassionately while maintaining professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in a community health clinic or similar healthcare settings is highly desirable, particularly in managing complex cases involving addiction or co-occurring disorders.

• A solid understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.

• Familiarity with the effects and management of medications prescribed for mental health conditions.

• Previous roles in group therapy settings and experience developing and leading therapeutic programs.
