Work Environment

This position is based in an assisted living facility, where you will work in a collaborative and supportive environment. The facility serves a diverse population of elderly residents, many of whom have complex medical histories that require specialized cardiology care. You will have the resources and technology at your disposal to provide comprehensive assessments and treatments, ensuring you can make impactful decisions on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments through detailed physical examinations and obtaining comprehensive medical histories.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms or stress tests, to evaluate patients' cardiovascular health.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to design and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Administer medications, closely monitor patient reactions, and make necessary adjustments to treatment protocols to ensure optimal care.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding heart health, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of adhering to prescribed treatment plans.
• Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing any concerns they may have about their conditions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with elderly patients residing in the assisted living facility, many of whom have chronic cardiovascular issues such as hypertension, heart failure, and coronary artery disease. Your role will involve not only treating these conditions but also advocating for preventive health practices to enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, with a focus on clinical practice.
• Valid New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a specialty in cardiology preferred.
• Strong foundational knowledge and clinical skills in cardiovascular medicine and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience working in a cardiology clinic or a related healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems for patient documentation and care management.
• Experience working in an assisted living or geriatric population is an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 160,000 annually, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
