Position Overview

The Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC) at Sun Valley Heart and Vascular is actively seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner specializing in cardiology to enhance our dynamic healthcare team in Schenectady, New York. The Nurse Practitioner will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional outpatient care under the guidance of our Chief Nurse Practitioner and in collaboration with our Medical Director and various specialists in the field of cardiology. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, team-oriented environment focusing on delivering comprehensive cardiac care to our patients.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite at our concierge medicine facility, focusing on house calls and direct patient interactions. Our practice environment is designed to be welcoming and patient-centric, ensuring that both our staff and patients feel valued and respected. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, from 9 am to 5 pm, with no after-hours calls, nights, or weekends, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with a team of experienced cardiologists to provide integrated care for patients dealing with various cardiovascular conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments through detailed history-taking, physical examinations, and monitoring of cardiovascular health.
• Manage treatment plans for chronic conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol, ensuring adherence to protocols for optimal patient health.
• Offer outpatient electrophysiology services to patients experiencing abnormal electrocardiograms, arrhythmias, and other cardiac conditions.
• Evaluate and manage acute cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and stroke, through clinical best practices.
• Perform stress testing and interpret results accurately, collaborating closely with cardiologists for follow-up care.
• Utilize established protocols to prescribe medications and modify treatment plans as necessary, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Facilitate referrals to specialists within our group, promoting a collaborative approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive health strategies tailored to individual needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will primarily engage with patients who have complex cardiovascular needs, from acute to chronic conditions. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required, along with a graduate degree (Master’s or Doctoral) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active Nurse Practitioner certification with the relevant state licensing to practice in New York.
• Completion of a nurse practitioner program focused on cardiology, with passage of the appropriate certification examination.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a cardiology setting, either inpatient or outpatient, is ideal.
• Involvement in multidisciplinary care models and experience with patient education management.
• Familiarity with the latest cardiovascular treatment modalities and technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 – 160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, our benefits package includes:
