Full-Time Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Gutierrez Oncology & Internal Medicine Center in Schenectady, New York. This full-time position focuses on providing high-quality care within our outpatient practice at the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC). The Nurse Practitioner will work under the guidance of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and the supervision of the Medical Director, primarily within the Division of Cardiology.

Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work onsite at an Assisted Living Facility, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and excellence in patient care. The multidisciplinary team includes cardiologists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals, all working together to facilitate superior patient outcomes. The facility offers state-of-the-art equipment and a warm, engaging environment ideal for providing outpatient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with cardiologists and the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care to patients with a range of cardiovascular conditions.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients suffering from hypertension, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and other cardiac-related conditions.
• Provide specialized outpatient only Electrophysiology services, including the assessment of abnormal electrocardiograms, management of arrhythmias, and care for patients with cardiac devices.
• Conduct stress tests and interpret results to make informed clinical decisions regarding patient care.
• Perform thorough history-taking, physical examinations, and provide education to patients and their families about managing their conditions.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with patient needs and organizational protocols, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans.
• Facilitate referrals to other specialists within the practice when necessary to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
• Enhance patient engagement and compliance through education and support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population served in this role primarily includes adults managing chronic cardiovascular diseases as well as individuals facing acute cardiac conditions. The NP will play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients receive personalized care tailored to their specific health challenges, including potentially life-altering cardiovascular issues. By facilitating patient education and building a trusting relationship, the NP will significantly impact patient adherence to treatment plans and overall health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree is preferred.
• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification to practice in New York.
• Proven experience in primary care and outpatient settings related to cardiology is highly desired.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in Cardiology, with a focus on both inpatient and outpatient settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with common cardiac conditions and treatments, including device management, stress testing, and arrhythmias.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and manage a diverse patient caseload.

Compensation and Benefits

The competitive salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to USD 160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
