Position Summary We’re seeking a skilled Underground Utilities Superintendent to lead utility operations on major infrastructure projects across Ventura County. This role will manage underground installations such as water, sewer, storm drain, dry utilities, and related scopes within public works and large-scale civil projects. Essential Functions Lead day-to-day operations of underground utility crews Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to ensure proper utility installation Enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance (Cal/OSHA, MUTCD, etc.) Supervise trenching, shoring, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction work Manage subcontractors, equipment, laborers, and material logistics Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks Proactively resolve field challenges and technical issues Document daily reports, inspections, and field changes Other duties as assigned Requirements 10+ years in heavy civil construction, with strong underground utility experience Previous experience as a superintendent or foreman on public works or civil infrastructure projects Expert knowledge of utility construction, trench safety, and inspection protocols Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills Ability to read civil plans and manage field resources efficiently Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to sites across LA/IE/OC Salary Range: $115,000 – $165,000/year (based on experience) Performance bonuses and project incentives 401(k) or retirement plan PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays Career advancement opportunities across Southern California projects Compliance Questions For more information on this topic please read the text below this form labeled "Why should you self identify".
