Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients to gather relevant mental health history and concerns, documenting insights from the initial consultation through to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through standardized assessments and personalized interviews to inform treatment decisions.
\n
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans that cater to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring they align with best practices in mental health.

• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and group interventions, utilizing techniques appropriate for varying age groups and psychological conditions.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress within treatment frameworks, adjusting plans as necessary based on client feedback and clinical judgment.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care and address complex client needs.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and referring physicians to coordinate care for clients requiring inpatient treatment or medication management.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement preventative strategies to help clients overcome these challenges.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health issues, fostering a network of support around the client.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse client population, including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing a range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is essential.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and empathetically.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills characterized by a sympathetic approach and a genuine desire to help others.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, preferably in an outpatient setting, working with a diverse clientele.

• Understanding physical and emotional health co-morbidities, as well as addressing addiction disorders, to provide comprehensive care.

• Knowledge of the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) to ensure high standards of care.

• In-depth insight into psychotropic medications and their effects, providing support for clients who are undergoing pharmacological treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
