Software Engineer - Python & PySpark

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering, with 5+ years of applied experience
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Experience with PySpark, AWS, Databricks, generative or agentic AI, MCP, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and REST APIs
• Demonstrated ability to lead effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools and establish validation expectations for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• In-depth knowledge of financial services and its IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Preferred: experience with Java, React, GKP, and Kafka

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, taking innovative approaches to technical challenges
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and promote effective patterns across the team
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring remediation and improve application and system stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and suitability for existing systems and information architecture
• Contribute critical technology solutions across technical areas and business functions in support of the firms objectives
