Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use concerns, accurately identifying the presence of co-occurring disorders.

• Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans that address both their mental health and substance use disorders through the use of evidence-based interventions.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy, focusing on developing crucial life skills such as coping strategies, relapse prevention techniques, and emotional regulation methods.

• Work in unison with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a holistic treatment approach that combines expertise from various specialties, including psychiatry and nursing.

• Engage in regular substance use monitoring using motivational interviewing techniques to motivate and support clients throughout their recovery journey.

• Educate clients and their families on the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing treatment adherence and lifestyle changes.

• Maintain precise and timely documentation of treatment progress and interventions in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in case conferences and staff meetings to share knowledge, improve skills, and stay current with best practices in co-occurring disorder treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. These individuals often face complex challenges, including the stigma associated with their conditions and the consequential social, economic, and psychological factors affecting their recovery. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be instrumental in providing the support and guidance necessary to help them navigate their recovery journeys and achieve sustainable well-being.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.

• Proven proficiency in evidence-based therapies for co-occurring disorders, including methods like Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Strong understanding of the interplay between mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a clinical setting focused on mental health and substance use issues.

• Demonstrated experience in using therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of clients with co-occurring disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n
