Step into a rewarding contract role supporting high-needs elementary students as a special education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity runs from September 8, 2026, through June 8, 2027, and offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. With a focus on children requiring specialized support, this position is designed for educators with expertise in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the drive to make a lasting impact.
What You’ll Bring:
- Valid Special Education teaching license with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement
- Prior experience teaching high-needs elementary school students
- Understanding of evidence-based practices for supporting students with autism
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individualized student needs
- Strong commitment to fostering inclusive classrooms
What You'll Do:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to high-needs students in elementary grades
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's unique requirements
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Collect and analyze data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and district initiatives
- Create opportunities for students to build social, emotional, and academic skills
