Take on a rewarding contract opportunity guiding elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive and collaborative school environment near Burnsville, MN. This full-time position runs from late August through early June, providing essential instruction and services to students with varied needs in a resource room setting.
You’ll work with a diverse caseload of up to 22 students across multiple grade levels, delivering instruction tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Collaboration is a key part of this position—cooperating with general educators, related service providers, and families to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current, valid Minnesota teaching license
- Experience working with elementary-age students with emotional and behavioral disorders
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Skilled at adapting instruction to meet individual needs and IEP goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students in a resource room setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with IEP teams
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and related service staff
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Support students across multiple grades throughout the full academic year
