As an essential part of the special education team, you’ll apply your expertise in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) instruction and collaborate with families and staff to foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement or eligibility
- Experience designing and implementing IEPs for elementary-aged students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
What You'll Do:
- Design, deliver, and adapt lessons for elementary students with ASD in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Employ evidence-based strategies to support social, behavioral, and academic growth
- Collaborate regularly with families, support staff, and other educators to monitor progress and adjust instructional approaches
- Maintain diligent records and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings
- Promote a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom for all learners
