Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Telemetry/Progressive Care) – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Four 12-hour shifts per week accepted. Holiday coverage required December 24-25. Limited time off availability between December 22 and January 5.

• Dual unit placement in IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units caring for telemetry oncology, cardiac, and stepdown patients
• Diverse patient population including thoracic surgery patients (lobectomies, esophagectomies, lung volume reduction), cardiac surgery stepdown, and hospitalist patients
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• 3:1 patient ratio across all shifts with Epic EMR charting system
• Engage with evidence-based nursing practices and innovative care approaches in a dynamic team environment

Requirements:

• Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry, cardiac, or PCU/stepdown specialty
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I preferred
• ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria apply)
• Must reside 50 miles or more from facility
• Willingness to float as needed between assigned units
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Clinical Skills:

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Arterial line management and interpretation of arterial blood gases
• Central line, PICC line, and port management
• Ventilator management including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac systems)
• Titration of vasoactive and insulin drips
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care
• Wound care including wound vac management
• IV insertion and maintenance, phlebotomy skills
