Job Opportunity – Neuroscience ICU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: Day or night shift options available; 8 or 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730); flexible 4x12 schedule available; every other weekend and some holidays required; 2:1 patient ratio

• Join an 18-bed Neuroscience ICU at a Magnet-designated Comprehensive Stroke Center ranked #1 in Wisconsin
• Care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients with diverse neuro diagnoses including stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, post-neurosurgery, and spinal cord injuries
• Utilize specialized critical care skills including ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), lumbar drains, hemodynamic monitoring, and hypothermia protocols
• Epic EMR system; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
• Collaborate with nationally certified physicians and a team of experienced critical care nurses with supportive leadership
• Travel assignment with competitive compensation; locals within 50 miles not accepted

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• ICU experience required; neurosurgery experience strongly preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• ICP monitoring or ventriculostomy experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (includes 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score)
• Demonstrated competency in critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Willingness to float within the facility as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
