Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories and determine appropriate therapeutic approaches.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery and resilience-building strategies that enhance patients' coping skills.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate recovery.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to enable patients to process traumatic experiences, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and promote personal healing journeys.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for each patient.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention when necessary, delivering support during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available mental health resources.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation aligned with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities centered on trauma-informed practices.
• Stay current with emerging research and advancements in trauma therapy to continuously enhance therapeutic efficacy and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at High Focus Counseling, your primary focus will be on individuals grappling with the effects of trauma. This includes those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will be instrumental in providing a nurturing and safe environment for patients to explore their experiences and build resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health practice is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment methodologies, and resilience-focused strategies.
• Proven experience in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions that result in positive patient outcomes.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and an empathetic communication style that fosters trust and connection with patients.
• An ability to maintain composure during high-stress situations while providing effective support.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.
• Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

A background in providing trauma-informed care and familiarity with evidence-based interventions targeting trauma recovery will be advantageous for candidates seeking this position.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
