Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments, utilizing a comprehensive approach to evaluate each patient's trauma history and current mental health status.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, resilience-building, and improving overall mental well-being.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) tailored to the specific needs of your patients.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to provide a supportive space for patients to process their trauma, gain coping strategies, and promote healing.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and streamline treatment options for patients.
• Provide crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies and assist patients in navigating immediate challenges.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and available resources, fostering a deeper understanding of treatment processes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with ethical standards and legal requirements while utilizing advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and refine treatment approaches.
• Commit to continuous professional development by staying informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse range of patients, particularly those affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will work with individuals from various backgrounds, offering culturally responsive care to help them reclaim their lives and foster resilience. Your contributions will directly impact their healing journeys, thus enhancing the lives of our community members.

Qualifications

• A valid Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New Jersey.
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities specifically designed for trauma intervention.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated through a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient care.
• Ability to work in high-stress situations while maintaining composure and professionalism.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications to manage patient information.

Preferred Experience

• 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, particularly with trauma-focused therapies.
• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Familiarity with community resources and support systems beneficial to trauma survivors.

Compensation and Benefits
