It achieves this work through the preservation and dissemination of a massive archive of more than 59,000 testimonies, engaging educational programs that reach multiple audiences, innovative academic and related research programs, and technology efforts that ensure that these histories remain accessible and relevant.

About the Opportunity:

The USC Shoah Foundation is seeking a Training Manager to contribute to the work of its Countering Antisemitism Laboratory in Washington, D.C.. This role will build and lead a national training practice on antisemitism prevention and response. The Training Manager will work with contractors and staff to design trainings, which they will then deliver to government agencies, law firms, hospital systems, entertainment companies, universities, newsrooms, and faith communities. This is a facilitation-first role, and it calls for a candidate with the ability to command attention while working through unscripted questions in real time.

Roles & Responsibilities

Facilitation & Delivery

• Lead live training sessions (in person, virtual, and/or asynchronous) for government officials, university communities, journalists and news producers, online content creators, religious leaders, and corporate or institutional teams
• Hold the room with both enthusiastic and reluctant audiences. Read the room and adjust tone, pacing, and content emphasis in real time
• Field difficult, unscripted, or politically charged questions live and spontaneously, without falling back on scripted or limiting responses.
• Coordinate with Foundation staff on event logistics, scheduling, technology, venue, and participant communications
• Travel domestically as needed to deliver on-site trainings (approximately 20%)

Design & Development

• Collaborate with contractors and staff to translate CAL's research and academic literature into practical, audience-ready training, such as workshops, webinars, e-learning, and train-the-trainer programs
• Build facilitator guides, participant materials, slide decks, and digital learning tools
• Keep materials current as research, events, and audience feedback evolve

Assessment & Evaluation

• Partner with CAL's Research Scientist and Director to design pre/post assessments and evaluation frameworks that measure knowledge retention and behavioral change
• Use evaluation findings to refine sessions and improve outcomes over time
• Prepare assessment summaries for internal review, funders, and stakeholders

Relationships & Growth

• Build relationships with prospective, current, and future trainee-organizations and other clients
• Consult with stakeholders up front to scope and customize each engagement
• Represent CAL at conferences and professional convenings
• Track training reach, audience mix, and satisfaction; contribute to grant reporting and strategic planning for the training practice

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years designing and delivering live training or facilitated learning for professional adult audiences — corporate, government, legal, healthcare, media, or higher ed backgrounds all welcome
• A demonstrated track record of commanding a room, including with resistant audiences
• Comfort improvising through unscripted, high-stakes, or emotionally charged questions in real time, without a scripted answer to lean on
• Experience facilitating sensitive or controversial subject matter, and navigating live pushback, controversy, or conflict during a session
• Strong instructional design skills
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills across in-person and virtual formats
• Demonstrated ability to quickly master complex, sensitive subject matter and turn it into clear, engaging content
• Strong project management, organization, time management, and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree a plus but not a substitute for facilitation experience
• Proficiency with presentation software, learning management systems, and virtual training platforms
• Ability to travel domestically (approximately 25%)

Preferred

• Subject-matter background in antisemitism, extremism studies, Jewish history, or Holocaust and genocide studies (can also be built on the job)
• Experience training government officials, medical professionals, journalists, or attorneys
• Familiarity with Title VI enforcement and campus antisemitism issues
• Familiarity with social media dynamics and online antisemitism
• Experience with train-the-trainer models and building internal training capacity at client organizations
• Background in program evaluation or applied research
• Graduate degree or equivalent depth of subject-matter experience

The annual base salary range for this position is $109,264–$115,000. When determining an offer, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills, internal peer alignment , applicable laws, contractual requirements, grant funding, and market conditions.
