Position Overview

Parkland Health and Hospital PC is seeking dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioners to join our dynamic team in Staten Island, New York. As an integral part of our primary care practice, you will provide comprehensive medical care, work collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals, and play a crucial role in the prevention and management of various health conditions. This full-time position involves a weekly commitment of 40 hours from Monday to Friday, starting at 5:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and thoroughly evaluate patients’ medical histories.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and imaging studies, to identify health issues.
• Diagnose a variety of acute and chronic conditions, developing individualized treatment plans for each patient.
• Propose and implement evidence-based treatment strategies for managing chronic and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses, ensuring optimal therapy effectiveness.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records along with patient schedules to support seamless care delivery.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive health measures.
• Promote best practices in patient health and wellness, contributing to community health education initiatives.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in nursing.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Nurse Practitioner at Parkland Health, you will encounter a diverse patient demographic, ranging from families seeking primary care to individuals requiring urgent medical attention. Qualifications

• A valid Nurse Practitioner license in New York State.
• Master’s degree in Nursing, with a focus on Nurse Practitioner studies.
• Certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
• Active DEA number for prescribing medications.
• Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner, particularly in primary care or acute settings.
• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to ethics in patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Specialized experience in fields such as internal medicine, cardiology, or urgent care.
• Experience working collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, enhancing patient care and outcomes.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for maintaining patient documentation efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits
