Key Responsibilities\n

• Monitor clients' progress through ongoing assessments and adjust treatment strategies in collaboration with the client and other healthcare professionals as necessary.

• Proactively follow up with clients to reinforce progress and prevent setbacks, adapting interventions to encourage sustainable mental health improvements.

• Educate and support family members or primary caregivers to better understand and address mental health challenges impacting their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Medina Counseling Center serves a wide range of client demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and groups. Our clients may present with various mental health issues, including stress management, trauma recovery, relationship challenges, and mood disorders. As a counselor, your role will be instrumental in guiding clients through their unique psychological landscapes, while our telehealth approach ensures that we can reach clients who may not have access to traditional in-person therapy.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Colorado.

• Pursuit of active professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and stay abreast of industry standards.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills necessary for effective client interaction and documentation.

• Strong interpersonal qualities, showcasing empathy, active listening, and the ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in mental health counseling or a related field, preferably in a telehealth setting.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, which enhances our ability to manage client data appropriately.

• Experience in addressing dual diagnoses, co-occurring disorders, and using trauma-informed practices.

• Knowledge and familiarity with the practices endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and their implementation within therapeutic settings.
