The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physiatry, is offering an outstanding opportunity for a 1 Neurorehabilitation Physiatrist and 1 Limb Loss Physiatrist to join our faculty. These will be a full-time academic appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor on the Clinical Practice track. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.
Anticipated start date is Fall 2026, but other dates may be considered.

As a member of the Division of Physiatry, the successful candidates will participate in clinical practice, teaching, and scholarship.
The physicians hired will serve as an attending physician on the inpatient consult service and inpatient rehabilitation units and see patients in the outpatient rehabilitation clinic at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). The patient population served will include individuals with stroke, amputee, TBI, SCI, and general rehabilitation. The successful applicants will participate in covering weekend and holiday attending rounds at Harborview Medical Center and/or University of Washington Medical Center. They will share on-call coverage as part of the department's attending call schedule. They will participate in the teaching of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residents and medical students primarily as part of clinical supervision of their activities on the inpatient unit and consult services and also will have the opportunity to teach in residency curriculum courses.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
COMPENSATION
The base salary range for each position will be $15,000 - $20,598 per month ($180,000 - $247,175 annually) -- commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include any of the following: incentive through UW Physicians (UWP), moving allowance, relocation incentive.

The UW Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is nationally recognized for outstanding research, clinical care and education and has a long history as a regional center. The Department has an exceptional record of successful extramural research funding and interprofessional collaboration and offers rich opportunities for interdisciplinary research, teaching, and learning.
We are among the nation's leading recipients of research and training funding from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, including the TBI and Burn Model Systems grants. We have a long history of innovative clinical and research programs, strong research infrastructure, active mentoring of junior faculty and a rich network of potential clinical and research collaborators among faculty within and outside our department.
The department has four clinical divisions: General Physiatry, Sports and Spine Physiatry, Pediatric Rehabilitation, and Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology. Faculty provide clinical services across four UW Medicine campuses: Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake, University of Washington Medical Center-Northwest, and UW Eastside Specialty Center. More than 25 of our faculty are based at Seattle Children's Hospital and the Veteran's Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System, which are UW Medicine-affiliated organizations. The Sports and Spine division provides care at seven clinics throughout the UW Medicine system.
We offer nationally recognized training in rehabilitation therapies and rehabilitation research through a PM&R Residency; multiple ACGME and non-ACGME fellowships and residencies in psychology, physical therapy, and more; postdoctoral scholarships; and four graduate degree programs: PhD in Rehabilitation Science, Master in Occupational Therapy, Master in Prosthetics and Orthotics, and Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Qualifications
- MD/DO or foreign equivalent
- Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) boarded or board eligible required
- Licensed or license-eligible to practice medicine in the State of Washington
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
