Role Description The Business Development Assistant is a part-time, hybrid role based in St. Petersburg, FL. This role supports the growth of the mortgage business by assisting with lead generation, maintaining prospect and client databases, and preparing materials for outreach campaigns and partnership initiatives. The individual will help research and identify new market opportunities, coordinate follow-ups with potential clients and referral partners, and support the development of presentations and proposals. Daily responsibilities also include collaborating with loan officers and marketing staff, handling basic customer inquiries, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient business development operations. The hope for this candidate is to grow into a full-time employee or producing loan officer. Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills and customer service abilities to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and partners. Effective communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication for client outreach and internal collaboration. Analytical skills and market research capabilities to evaluate trends, identify opportunities, and support data‑informed decisions. Detail‑oriented with solid organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., MS Office, CRM tools) and comfort learning new systems. Ability to work collaboratively in an on‑site team environment and maintain a professional, client‑focused approach. Prior experience in mortgage, real estate, financial services, or sales support is preferred but not required.
