Senior Accountant

Position Overview My client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a high-performing accounting team in Irvine. This role will play a key part in the month-end close process, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the month-end close process (3-day close cycle) Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger Support financial statement preparation and reporting Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes and efficiencies Analyze variances and provide insights to management Participate in system and process enhancements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 4 years of accounting experience (public accounting a plus) Strong knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles Experience with general ledger and full-cycle accounting Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.) Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) Detail-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills Nice to Have: CPA designation Exposure to derivatives or trading environments Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $100,000 – $110,000 10% annual bonus (historically paid) Profit sharing program 401(k) with company match Comprehensive benefits package Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
