Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary interviews with new clients and thoroughly document cases from the initial consultation, tracking progress throughout the treatment journey.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional states to inform personalized treatment strategies that support recovery.

• Develop and implement treatment plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups that address specific psychological and emotional issues.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that create a safe space for clients to express themselves and work toward their goals.

• Monitor client progress by reviewing treatment plans regularly and making necessary adjustments to ensure effective outcomes.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention plans.

• Provide valuable follow-up to ensure continuity of care, especially for clients transitioning from hospital settings.

• Offer guidance to family members and primary caregivers on managing mental health challenges effectively to foster a supportive home environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will encompass working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health disorders. You will also engage with families in crisis and help them navigate their challenges, contributing to a broader understanding of mental health and wellness in the community. This position focuses not only on immediate therapeutic needs but also on empowering clients with tools and strategies for long-term wellbeing.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, and an understanding of documentation best practices.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and collaborate with other healthcare providers.

• A kind demeanor and interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working as a mental health counselor in an outpatient or inpatient setting.

• Familiarity with addiction disorders and the ability to integrate treatment strategies for co-occurring conditions.

• Knowledge of the best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong understanding of the impacts of pharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n
