Summary This position is located in Federal Student Aid (FSA). FSA is a Principal Office of the United States Department of Education responsible for awarding billions of dollars in federal student aid funds. Duties Assisting with analyzing and evaluating departmental management practices, identifying operational challenges, proposing data‑driven solutions including procedural improvements and technology adoption, and providing guidance on contract information management and stakeholder communications. Preparing administrative reporting, evaluating internal operations for efficiency and cost savings, recommending organizational improvements, and assisting in supporting project cost and program economic analyses. Supporting senior staff by evaluating managerial operations, advising on data management and customer service solutions, preparing project reports, and recommending process improvements using statistical tools. Assisting in identifying routine program issues, analyzing program performance using qualitative and quantitative methods, recommending improvements, preparing management reports, and contributing to all phases of project management. Conditions of Employment Relocation will not be paid. Subject to the completion of a one‑year probationary period. Males 18 and over must be registered with the Selective Service. Minimum Qualification Requirements One‑year experience in federal or non‑federal service equivalent to at least a GS‑07 performing two of three of the following duties: (a) developing effectiveness and efficiencies of a program or process and providing recommendations for improvement; (b) handling project management including development, implementation of planning tools and controls, tracking, reporting, and communicating with stakeholders; (c) analyzing data and documents to identify issues and patterns. Or education: two years of graduate education beyond a bachelor’s degree. Or a master’s degree or equivalent. Or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Or a combination of specialized experience and education that totals 100 % or more. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Communicating orally with internal and external stakeholders. Analyzing data and making written recommendations to management. Knowledge of customer service and customer support principles and methods. Knowledge of qualitative techniques for analyzing and ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity. Education Two years of graduate education (beyond a bachelor’s degree).
