Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant | Fort Lauderdale, FL (Onsite) A highly regarded, multi-office law firm ranked in the Top 20 on the South Florida Business Journal's Top Law Firms list is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Fort Lauderdale. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, professional services environment. The position offers exposure to multi-office operations, international accounting activities, financial reporting, and law firm accounting processes while working closely with firm leadership. Accounting & Financial Operations Manage daily Accounts Payable operations for the firm's Northeast offices Support the accounting operations of the firm's international component company, including banking, accounts receivable, accounts payable, vendor payments, and monitoring A/R, unapplied cash, and WIP balances Manage banking, billing, and general ledger activities for the firm's subsidiary entity Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations and supporting documentation Perform monthly bank reconciliations for international operations Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting Reporting & Analysis Support management with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis Assist in preparing financial and compliance reports for multiple entities Interpret financial statements and assist with budget-related and analytical projects Record journal entries and maintain accurate financial records Work alongside the Senior Billing Coordinator to ensure timely client billing Maintain electronic records and document management through Expert Image Respond promptly to accounting-related correspondence and inquiries Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred Experience interpreting financial statements and preparing journal entries Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with Aderant Expert or comparable legal accounting software preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism Why Join Us?
