Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial consultations through comprehensive preliminary interviews, documenting client histories and treatment progress.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health through various assessment tools and methodologies.

• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans for a diverse client base, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing evidence-based interventions that promote healing and growth.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting intervention plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.

• Collaborate with other health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

• Follow up with clients who have been hospitalized, collaborating with attending physicians and psychiatrists for continuity of care.

• Address barriers to recovery and assist family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Citrus Psychotherapy Center, you will work with a diverse client population experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and addiction disorders. Our focus is on providing culturally competent and individualized care, ensuring that each client feels understood and supported during their recovery journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state.

• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a passion for helping individuals improve their mental well-being.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation and progress notes.

• Experience addressing clients with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction issues.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, enhancing the quality of interventions delivered.

• An understanding of the implications and effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical practitioners.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing for clear expression of both clinical insights and empathetic support.

• Strong interpersonal skills characterized by a warm, understanding, and supportive nature.
