We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Citrus Psychotherapy Center in Oyster Bay, New York. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial mental health evaluations through detailed interviews to gather comprehensive case history and document pertinent information from the first consultation to the completion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to develop a detailed understanding of their unique challenges and needs.

• Create individualized intervention and recovery plans for a variety of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate dynamic and supportive individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering personal growth and recovery.
\n
• Regularly monitor and assess client progress throughout the course of the treatment plan, making adjustments as necessary to ensure effectiveness.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care.

• Provide follow-up care for clients during and after hospitalization, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of care.
\n
• Identify behaviors and factors hindering recovery and work collaboratively with clients and caregivers to address these issues.

• Support and educate family members and primary caregivers on managing mental and behavioral challenges associated with clients' conditions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution, demonstrating a strong academic foundation.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of New York.

• A passing score on the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Prior experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a proven track record of effective client engagement and care.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically experience with AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• An understanding of the impact of physical health conditions and substance use disorders on mental health, allowing for a comprehensive approach to treatment.

• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is highly desirable.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside exceptional interpersonal abilities that foster therapeutic relationships with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and we are excited to offer a sign-on bonus as part of our competitive package.
