Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health evaluations and document client progress from initial consultation through to treatment completion.
\n
• Assess and diagnose clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health conditions, using evidence-based practices.
\n
• Develop personalized treatment and intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, tailored to each client's unique needs.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and productive therapy sessions, maintaining a supportive environment that encourages open dialogue and personal growth.
\n
• Regularly monitor and review client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on feedback and observed advancements.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including fellow mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

• Coordinate with psychiatrists for clients requiring medication management, ensuring continuity of care during any inpatient admissions.
\n
• Identify and address any behaviors or barriers to recovery, working closely with clients and their families to navigate these challenges.

• Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals struggling with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. You will engage with a culturally diverse client base reflective of the McAllen community, ensuring that treatments are empathetic, culturally competent, and effective.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Texas, with an active, clean status.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• A minimum of two years of professional experience as a mental health counselor, providing direct care to clients.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR, with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential client documentation.
\n
• Solid understanding of a variety of mental health issues, including co-occurring disorders and the impact of medication on treatment.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to convey empathy and trust to clients.
\n
• Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively and maintain professional relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in a telehealth setting, with a strong grasp of virtual therapeutic techniques and best practices.

• Familiarity with the standards and practices set by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Background in crisis intervention and management strategies.
\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
